Millstreet International Horse Trials 2019 – Tuesday Update
After a bumper CSI2* Millstreet International Horse Show, the ground crew and team have worked tirelessly to transform the venue into eventing mode. The gates to the Green Glens Arena will open on time at 4 o’ clock this afternoon and we look forward to welcoming our first arrivals.
As we are all aware, the last few weeks have brought unprecedented levels of rainfall for this time of year to the British Isles and unfortunately, Millstreet is no exception to this. We are glad to say that parking, stabling, warm-up and dressage/show-jumping arenas are all fully-functioning and prepared for whatever lies ahead.
Cross Country ground conditions have been subject to ongoing examination in the lead-up to the event. As one would expect, the challenging rainfall levels have had their impact. Following a review meeting this morning, established contingency measures have been actioned to optimize the courses at each level. Thankfully the weather outlook from Thursday onwards is positive and we don’t expect the predicted rainfall tomorrow to adversely impact the above measures.
It’s been a testing few weeks for our sport however we are resolute in doing everything possible to deliver Millstreet International Horse Trials this weekend and will spare no resource in so doing. The co-operation of each and every competitor is essential and very much appreciated in enabling us to deliver the above.
We wish everybody a safe journey to Millstreet and a good sporting weekend.
